The Swingline Stack-and-Shred 500X cross cut shredder is ideally suited for shared office environments and can effectively cater up to 10 consumers. 500X is a security level-3 shredder and yields a shred size of 1/4" inches at the rate of ten sheets per minute. The 500X cross cut shredder can shred a maximum of 500 sheets in a single shred cycle. Swingline 500X has a 9 inch wide feed opening and comes patented with the Hands Free Auto+ technology that enables automatic paper feeding thus eliminating any manual effort.

The Swingline 500X cross cut shredder features a unique 4 digit programmable PIN lock that ensures complete security of the shredding material. The Swingline Stack-and-Shred 500X can easily shred optical media, plastic cards, staples and paperclips. 500X boasts a generous bin capacity of 21 gallons and also features the SelfOil technology that ensures automatic blade oiling. In addition, the Swingline Stack-and-Shred 500X comes with auto jam clearance feature. Swingline 500X cross cut shredder is an ultra quiet shredder and comes with a separate slot for optical media (CDs) shredding.

Stack Style

The Swingline 500X Shredder is a new style shredder that is a Stack, Shut and Go shredder. You can lift the top cover, stack up to 500 sheets, and let them shred. They will automatically shred, while you can do other tasks.

Shredders Security Standards

Paper shredders fall into six levels of security level 1 (lowest) to level 6 (highest) as defined in DIN32757. These levels have been defined under different considerations about information media and security required. For normal home use then a lower level of security is suitable. For an office where information such as personnel and wage documents are being disposed, then a higher level (cross cut shredder model) would be suitable.
